Bike Event

Price: $60 per person

We have secured for you a resort-class course on San Juan Island. Numerous high-end outfitters, such as Trek Tours and Backroads Tours, come to San Juan Island to take advantage of this National Park-quality island that includes, well, a National Park. From our course you will experience the small town of Friday Harbor, vistas of scenic rolling hills, pastoral valleys, the Salish Sea, the other islands of the San Juan Archipelago, and Vancouver Island, Canada.  The view constantly changes as you pass through San Juan Island’s micro-climates and terrain. Bring a large memory card for your camera because this course is a target-rich environment for photographs.

The Course Big Picture

A new course for 2018 turns the Friday Harbor Bike-n-Brew into a proper Metric Century. A 62-mile stunning layout with 4400 ft of climbing, more view locations and less traffic. We kept the best: Roche Harbor, Lime Kiln Point State Park, Cattle Point, West Side Road, False Bay Road, Views of Vancouver Island, riding through National Parks American and English Camp, and then we added a trip up Mount Grant. The views from Mount Grant are alone worth the ride and Mount Grant is non-motorized vehicle paved access. A great fully-supported road ride with an optional local brew tasting at the end, just the perfect excuse to visit the San Juan Islands.

The Flexible Details

Should a metric century be more than you want for a day on the bike, we have designed a course that allows you to tailor your ride to make it perfect for you. By dropping sections, you can avoid the steepest sections or reduce the total mileage to less than 25 miles and still enjoy the stunning vistas of Haro Strait, Lime Kiln Point State park, and our ride name sake, Town of Friday Harbor.

Fun Ride Option

We had requests for a ride for the young and young-at-heart who want to share the spirit of Friday Harbor Bike-N-Brew, so we have a second start for a 6-mile fun ride. The start and finish are the same and we are using the final section of our larger course for the ride around Turn Point with opportunities to visit Jackson Beach, and to view the channel between San Juan Island, Shaw Island, and Lopez Island that leads back to the ferry landing section of Town of Friday Harbor and the finish at San Juan County Fairgrounds. So, grab the tandem, bring your electric bike, and make a great Friday Harbor Memory.

Logistics and Support

All courses start and end at the Fairgrounds in Friday Harbor where ample parking and participant check-in can be found. The ride starts at approximately 11:00 AM so that participants may arrive by ferry to participate. The ride will end in time for those who wish to return home the same day to catch a ferry back to the mainland.

To help you along the way, we have SAG stops for fluids and snacks plus additional water and toilet locations marked on your course map. A roving support vehicle for assistance with minor mechanical assistance will be available.
